Electroencephalographic Signaling Approach in Detecting Moods of People
Fatih Basciftci, Çiğdem Afacan
Abstract
A large part of the human body is governed by a series of commands from the brain. The working structure of the brain is provided by communication between neurons. Neurons perform electrical and chemical communication. The electrical movements of neurons are called "brain waves". Brain waves can be recorded by Electroencephalography (EEG). With brain waves recorded by EEG, diagnosis and treatment of many diseases can be realized, as well as detection of emotional situations of people can be realized. In the period we have lived, production and consumption have progressed at an incredible rate. In this fast-paced world, people are realizing what they really do most without knowing what influences their preferences. A person is unaware that the reason for buying a product is only a specific smell, texture, or color for the product. Traditional survey methods are widely used in analyzing situations that affect people's perceptions. The traditional survey method can be misleading because it is made up of verbal expressions of people. As a result of evaluating the brain signals that can be taken by the EEG device, the effects of the stimuli on the persons can be evaluated independently of the oral statements. In study Impact of stimuli on the person It is suggested to instantly evaluate the brain signals from the skull using web based automation using Emotiv Epoc+ device. The studys done in this area did not go far beyond the activities that were made with a few people and a purely commercial purpose. In this study, the acquisition of EEG signals with the Emotic Epoc+ device makes it possible to perform this process mobile. Both the acquisition of brain signals is mobile and the data is transferred instantly to the cloud system and the web based automation evaluation is applied easily in every field of work, the current work can be expanded at any time, the work can be added in unlimited categories and the instantaneous transportation opportunities are provided.
