GIS-based urban growth area selection using Analytic Hierarchy Process in Edirne/Turkey

One of the most important problems in Turkey which is one of the countries that is becoming urbanized fast is the irregular urbanization. Sustainable urban growth is a matter of concern because each city has its own distinctive features and its own unique problems. Site selection for urban growth is a critical issue for sustainable land management because of living standards, realizing economic and social development and environmental conservation issues. Multi criteria evaluation methods are often used for different urban studies.
