Abstract
In this study, the properties of the sintered clay-based geopolymer material which has different particle size was investigated. Firstly, the clay material is sintered at 700 ° C and then it was grinded at the laboratory type mill. The milled material was used in the production of the geopolymer material after grinding in three different fineness (- 832, - 500 and - 250 µm). For the preparation of materials, 50 x 50 x 50 mm cube metal molds were used. The aim of preparing example, alkaline solution (NaOH and sodium silicate solution) and the prepared clay materials were mixed in the automatic cement mixer. And then, the mixtures prepared by metal mould with vibration method. Subsequently, the samples were cured at 90 °C for 5 hours with the molds in the oven. After the curing samples are left in the laboratory environment during 7 days because of the physical and mechanical properties were determined. According to the findings, it was determined that the values of the unit volume weight and compressive strength of the samples increased with the decrease of sintered clay grain size.
