Investigation of Implementation and Cost Analysis of Co-generation Systems in the Upper Construction Works

Abstract
Nowadays the number of energy-saving buildings is increasing day by day. In this paper working principles and feasibility of cogeneration systems, which is a technology used for energy conservation in buildings, was analyzed in detail. Energy consumption and production data in the world and Turkey are emphasized, renewable energy sources are mentioned and energy saving in buildings is examined. General information about cogeneration systems is given and legal background of these systems is explained then selection criteria of cogeneration systems are formed and project design stages are explained. After an examining building pilot project by analyzing trigeneration facility in operation approximate cost and feasibility studies were performed. Study results are shown that municipalities cogeneration project will be provided in terms of energy efficiency with the use of body applications, the high initial investment cost in a short time will been transformed into economic advantage
