An Investigation of Deformation Structure on the Steel and Aluminum Sheet Materials Joined With Clinching Rivet

Abstract
In this study, mechanical behavior and joining structure of St 37 steel and aluminum plates connection plates joined with combined clinching rivets (CR) were investigated. For this purpose, all sheet material was used for preparing connection plates according to the standards. These plates were combined using a circular-shaped clinching rivet set. In the experiments, microstructural change of the combined aluminum material was examined. In addition, it was also investigated steel and aluminum material micro hardness changes. According to experimental results, it was observed aluminum plate microstructures changing spherical to directed lamellar microstructure. The results showed that the highest hardness changing in steel plate at the section 2, 3, 4 and 5 area generally but in the contrary, aluminum plates is not high hardness change and it has been found to be similar the base material all the section.
